Content creators from around the world will converge on metro-Atlanta October 10-23, 2022 for the 21st Urban Mediamakers Film Festival (UMFF). Presented by the Urban Mediamakers Association, UMFF celebrates diverse artists, filmmakers, writers, actors and digital content creators who are using new technology, content creation tools and platforms, as well as new distribution models to create a multitude of interactive projects. With 150 creative projects competing for prizes and awards, UMFF’s diverse content creators represent 18 countries and 6 continents. We have urban excellence competing from Africa, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Haiti, India, Iran, Israel, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Spain, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States.
UMFF 2022 brings a variety of genres in storytelling and visuals to Gwinnett County with family-friendly virtual and in-person events over 14 days. UMFF includes an Anti-Columbus Day event to kickoff the festival, as well as filmmaker competitions, industry sessions, urban pitchfest, summit for urban directors and producers, and the AfroFuturism Fest celebrating Black sci-fi, horror and fantasy in shorts, features, comic books, and animations in competition with cosplayers and costume contest.
