For the 11th year running, the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) maintains its stellar reputation as the top high school in Georgia, according to the latest rankings by U.S. News and World Report. With an impressive score of 99.89 out of 100, GSMST not only secured the top spot in the state but also claimed the 19th position nationally.

The AP® participation rate at Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology is 97%. The total minority enrollment is 86%. The racial makeup is: Asian (49.2%), African American (23.4%), White (14.2%), 9.3% Hispanic, .5% Two or More Races, 0.3% Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, and 0.1% American Indian/Alaska Native.

The 2023 Best High School rankings showcase GSMST’s continued excellence, placing it at No. 10 among STEM schools nationwide. This Lawrenceville-based institution has consistently demonstrated its commitment to academic prowess and innovation.

In the Georgia rankings, GSMST leads the pack, followed by Columbus High at No. 2, Davidson Magnet School at No. 3, DeKalb School for the Arts at No. 4, and Lambert High at No. 5. Other notable mentions include North Gwinnett High School at No. 12, Buford High at No. 18, and Brookwood High at No. 28 in the state.

Gwinnett County emerges as a stronghold of educational excellence, with 12 high schools securing positions in the top 55. Beyond state borders, the Early College at Guilford in North Carolina claims the overall top spot, with schools like Indiana’s Signature School, Florida’s School for Advanced Studies, Nevada’s The Davidson Academy, and Virginia’s Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology rounding out the national standings.
