Metro-Atlanta is one of the biggest hubs of sex trafficking nationwide. In the fight to stop human trafficking, Gwinnett County Police Department has partnered with New Mercies Christian Church provide a public class on human trafficking to start the new year. The session will be held on January 22, 2020, 7:00 p.m., at New Mercies Christian Church located at 4000 Five Forks Trickum Road in Lilburn, Georgia.
Gwinnett County police will be information on what human trafficking is, Georgia statistics and laws, how to identify victims and traffickers and methods for communities to fight human trafficking. Community organizations, non-profits and activists will be attending the session.
Due to the graphic nature of human trafficking, the police department said the class is not recommended for children under age 16. However, childcare will be provided on site.
